July is here and the water polo competitions are starting to come fast and furious. Updates on the SOGO tournament schedule, masters programming, and an important call to action regarding high school water polo.

UIL Water Polo Update
TISCA, USA Water Polo, and AquaTex are all asking for your support to help water polo become the next UIL-sponsored high school sport. There has been a great deal of work done behind the scenes to keep UIL leadership apprised of the sport’s growth. But there’s more work to do. Follow this link to the TISCA West Region site for ways you and your families can bring us closer to full UIL sanction.
Masters Update
Beginning on July 1 we’re making a change to the schedule. For the remainder of the summer masters water polo will scrimmage once a week on Wednesdays from 8.30 to 10:00 PM. Our 18u athletes will join our Youth athletes on Mondays from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Thursday practices will remain the same. Check the calendar for details.
At the end of the summer we’ll revise the schedule to include our typical Saturday practices and masters programming. Fees for masters water polo will be updated accordingly.
Something for Your Fall Calendar
Make mental plans for a travel day to watch some very high quality water polo this fall. There is news of a serious event coming to Texas featuring many of the best water polo athletes in the country. I’ll share all the details once everything is confirmed. #TexasWaterpoloRising.
