2023 Suns Out Guns Out Tournament

Southside’s Sun’s Out, Guns Out is an opportunity for clubs/teams to have a final competitive tournament before the NJO Tournaments. This tournament will be a Championship style tournament with a division winner and awards for the winning teams. This year we will be holding the tournament for all age groups and split between two major pools in Houston. The 14u, 12u and 10u divisions will be played at the Pearland Natatorium and 18ub, 18ug, 16ub, 16ug will be at CF Natatorium in North Houston.We are going to be organizing food trucks and some concession items as well as a basket raffle at both locations. We will also be hosting a custom T-Shirt printer with a tournament logo available at the pearland location.

There is going to be a team entry limit and waitlist so make sure to enter your teams early! Athletes can play in multiple divisions as long as they meet the criteria for each division. Ages are defined as an athlete’s age on August 1, 2023. If you have incomplete teams or athletes that need a team please reach out to Daniel Cox. Southside WPC looks forward to hosting this event!

Date: July 8-9, 2023.
Admissions for the weekend: $15 for 2 day pass or $10 for 1 day pass. Any visitors under 10 years old are free. ONLY AVAILABLE ONLINE. Link to come later
Goodies: Food Trucks, Raffle Baskets and custom shirts
Location(s): Pearland Natatorium, 4141 Bailey Road, Pearland, TX 77584 (14u/12u/10u). Cy Fair Natatorium, 12550 Windfern Rd B, Houston, TX 77064 (18u/16u) both will feature three all deep courses running simultaneously.
Hospitality: There will be Coach & Referee hospitality set-up for the tournament at each location.

Divisions: 18u mixed, 18u girls, 16u mixed, 16u girls, 14u mixed, 14u girls, 12u mixed, 10u mixed
Format: All games will be 6:00 minute quarters using USA Water Polo rules. There will be two minutes between periods, two timeouts per game, and games tied after four quarters will go to shootouts. Team listed first, wears white caps/starts to the left of the table. Teams will need to supply their own team caps/warm-up balls. In-water warm-up will be between quarters and/or immediately before the game.
Team Entry Fee: $650/team no refunds for cancellations. Payments will be collected when registering teams on the USAWP website. Tournament Registration
Team Registration Deadline: Friday, June 30, 2023.
Team Roster Deadline: Wednesday, July 5, 2023.
Conditions/ID Checks: Before each game, the referees will be doing ID Checks. All teams will need to provide their own verified rosters and photo ID’s for the ID Checks. Teams can print verified rosters with accompanying photo ID’s via the online USAWP roster verification system.
